7 things that Daniel understood:  1. He understood why they were captive, 2. He understood that he believed in the word of the Lord, 3. He understood that God has a timetable, 4. He understood that he had a role in the fulfillment, 5. He understood the importance of prayer, 6. He understood the heart of the people and the heart of God, 7. He understood the sacrifice that was required.
